Quick question for those who've classed up lately....
I got the call from Joanne on Friday, offering the 1 April class. Then she emailed me saying an official offer of employment will be extended, pending the criminal background check. Also, she said Brian north would email the new guys.

How long did the background check take? How long to get the extra data from Brian?

Default Interview calls

Does anyone know if you are out flying for the week and no one answers your home phone, do they leave a message or call back to schedule the interview?

I carried my phone everywhere and happened to pick up. I think theyll leave a message, but you may miss that particular window.

I was hoping they would call my cell when I don't answer my home number. Hard to have the phone on while in simulator training (as I'm doing right now) or while flying. But, I will turn my cell phone on at every chance, waiting on the call. And here I was was checking email at every turn, thinking it would come through there. Fingers crossed.

they actually left me a message. the call itself woke me up, but i didn't recognize the number, so i let it go to voicemail. i listened to it and obviously called her back immediately!

Looking back at my inbox, I started class on Feb 18th and I received my first email regarding training on Feb 9. Then 6 different emails with information from the 11-13, including the one from Brian North.

Hello,

I have been applying to jetBlue for 3 years now. I have been at XJT for over 8 years now, 7 of which I spent as an FO. I went to 2 job fairs so far and have internal recommendations. Last April, I received an email indicating a possible interview and a request for a updated resume. Two weeks after I sent the updated resume I received an email stating that I am not competitive at the moment and to keep updating my application. I have been try figure out what caused the change of heart since the explanation of not being competitive does not make much sense to me, after all I was competitive enough for the email. Was anyone else in this position?

Rascal, That is an extremely frustrating position. Unfortunately, I'm not sure anybody knows the rhyme or reason. I was at XJT for 8 1/2 when I got the call last september... Didn't know anybody here and didn't talk to any recruiters. But I'd gone to 4 job fairs to talk with united/delta recruiters, all of whom said I was "exactly" what they were looking for, only to hear nothing for 2 years.

who knows. The main thing is to keep plugging away. Someone has to bite some time.
