Not sure if anyone has mentioned this already, but I just logged in to update my hours and there is no more link to be able to do that. Also, as a previous applicant, under application status I used to be able to see all the previous times I've applied, they are all gone. Anyone else noticing this?

Any idea on how many applicants they received this time?

Quick question for those who've been through training in the last couple months - the last gouge I got is about 10 months old......

Are they still doing 10 day breaks after Indoc but before sims?
What's the current wait between LOE and IOE?

Everyone's mileage will vary. I bid to go through training with no breaks (other then the occasional 1 or 2 days off here and there). Some in my class bid for (or had no choice because of seniority) a 10 day break. Depends on class size I guess.
Personally, I waited about 6 or 7 days to start IOE and knocked it out on a 4 day trip.

Nov class. 20 day break (I bid it), 3 weeks to finish IOE (Blocked 25.4 but scheduling issues), still do not have 100 hrs for consolidation yet.

A friend of mine is a 320 FO in JFK. He ends up going to LGA for F9 quite a bit. I think we fly it 1-2 times daily to JFK (same for BOS) and the loads tend to be pretty high. Doable for sure, but probably not the easiest commute out there.

I do it. Most Denver folks are based in Boston due to JB still running 2 flights a day. Others are in LGB. The past few years I've seen 3 Denver pilots move to the Boston area to avoid the commute.

LGA is a bit of a pain due to constant traffic and construction on the Van Wyck. I've gotten to the point where I bid trips that have me commute in on JB in the morning and finish later so that I just take JB home. (Most of the year we run the latest New York to Denver flight of the three airports.) EWR is an option in an emergency, but that too is tough and really isn't really a practical commute. 1 flight a day JFK to Denver on JetBlue and that doesn't run 7 days a week November through February.

UAL, DELTA, and SWA run to LGA. Frontier does a seasonal schedule but is unreliable due to weight restrictions. As a junior guy you may finish on a redeye on your last day and have to run to LGA to catch the morning bank to Denver. That'll be a $20 dollar cab ride each time. If you have more time you can buy a book of tickets on the shuttle that turns each trip into $8.50.

This winter has been rough. If I'm commuting to work that must mean there is a snowstorm in the East. I've sat in the jumpseat that past 6 weeks getting to work. (And this is the slow season.) It has been stressful walking up to the gate wondering if THIS is the trip I call in Out of Position for.

Having said that, I'm planted in Denver and the benefits to my family to stay there outweighs my inconvenience once a week.

Good Luck.

Thanks...we are thinking of moving to denver and I'm headed to vets in blue tomorrow. The commute was one of my concerns.
