My undergrad was in behavioral psyche- so lots of time with dogs and rats. Come to think of it, that prepared me for the airlines quite
well- the behavior is remarkably similar ...

Credit checks?
Does anyone know if they check your credit score as part of the background check?
(please, no lectures about "if you can't manage your wallet, why do you think you can manage an airplane", if you have been in aviation long enough without a trust fund and have not had a very bad year yet, I am jealous of you, not mad, just jealous.)

Wasn't complaining about it - did part of my graduate work in organizational/industrial psychology. Saw how a lot of policies were implemented and the resultant behavior. No different living in a cube farm - the sick policy impacts whether people show up sick or not. In most cases they are not paid so they come in. Just an observation about human behavior, economic theory, and my two cents. Statistically I still contend that pilots will show up here when not 100%, and if I had access to the data I bet I could find a strong correlation with a premium - PTO policy. This is also a function of not separating the two- sick and PTO. It's poor from a human factors standpoint but financially lucrative and that's why pilots are for it of course.

Operational question - I do like the debate on PTO though:
If you drop a day as UTO, thus reducing the guarantee from 75 hrs, can you then pick up another (different) reserve day to return back to the original 75?

Great question. Also, can you pick up RSA on a day that you took UTO?

Are you comparing the B6 pilots to rats and dogs behavior?
