Not really a kid with 25 years of flying experience and formerly employed with two ALPA carriers. Just trying to get a sense of the impending cultural shift from the status quo. And also, what the status quo is. So you're saying I have to work EVERY Tuesday?

I guess my impetus for the original question was the influx of recurrent pilots proclaiming (offering advice perhaps) that the way to do it at B6 was to make lucrative deals with scheduling. Interesting, I thought, but my retort was that the concept would probably not be valid under a CBA. We're the group caught in the transition so trying to indoctrinate and absorb the past and future.

Excellent post. To "add color" to my earlier post/riposte, all of that alphabet soup that was posted in someone's earlier example actually does exist. But it's unrealistic for most people, especially new-hires, to be able to take advantage of it for multiple reasons. Ask any BOS E190 FO hired in the last year commuting to reserve how much extra loot he/she has been able to pull in, for example. (Hint: think going non-current, check airman extensions to consolidation, begging CP office to buy trips to avoid a trip to OSC).

The one exception is that there has been plenty of LCR in the well-staffed seats. However, when you're junior on RSV and your block starts on Friday Saturday or Sunda, no LCR for you grasshopper...

As for PTO sellback, that exists AFTER you acrue 100 hours, or 11.1 months on the line for first-year bubbas/bubbettes assuming you use none for any other purpose. My point, conservatively plan on 49x75 (RSV guarantee) for your first year and anything above that will be gravy.

Well said sir, that statement is common sense. Why anyone would base their life on anything more is beyond me!

Tell you what. Still better than 36 bucks an hour for the indefinite future

While that is nice for you, most guys take a paycut here the first few years. Not a knock on JetBlue. Just how the industry works with first year pay.

Hired this year, BOS E90....my monthly take home had never been more than $2500. RSA/VDA/Premium pay/whatever else...non existent. Do not plan on any of it.

That's training pay! I'm hearing not a lot of flying for reserves; hence, the per diem is scarce too. After six weeks at JBU, five months at Envoy ( per the B6 request to "get current"), 3 months of not working (turned down two other offers pending an earlier date at B6 that never materialized...see currency issue above), I'm going to have to generate ancillary non-flying income on the side to get through this year. Expecting IOE within next two weeks.
Hopefully the drafts on the overnights are not island resort prices...e.g. $9 each

1-2-3 rule at JB?

Sorry. .. No 123s. I'm aware of any more.

But in the DR you can Getty a half gallon of presidante for about $3. $5 with the dirty gringo discount.
