And, you're happy and staying put?

Dude, you do know the legacies will hire big numbers right?

You are staying put. You HAVE stayed put. Did you know that the legacies will hire big numbers and that most of them have hired during your time at JB?

You are miserable and staying put?

Don't intend to. I'm like many at JB. I meet the mins at the big carriers and see JB for the stepping stone that it is.

The legacies I'm targeting haven't hired big numbers of civilians off the street during my time at JB.

JB loses many Pilots to the legacies. During my time, I haven't heard of any Pilots coming to JB from SWA/ UAL/ DAL/ UPS/ FEX/ AK. Conversely, during my time at JB, I'm privy to huge numbers of Pilots leaving JB for those carriers.

Do you need me to tell you why?

There are many good reasons to leave JB for the legacies. I don't blame our pilots for leaving for airlines with better pay, benefits, worldwide networks, huge high paying widebody fleets and THOUSANDS of retirements that will offer seniority progression that JB will NEVER offer. You would be stupid NOT to leave.

I can listen to the points of view of others. I can also call a spade a spade. JetBlue has earned the reputation of being a low pay Airline. Many Pilots recognize this and the fact that other carriers compensate Pilots much better. So, huge numbers have quit and this will continue.

Are you perhaps independantly wealthy and not in this job for the compensation?

Yeah, they aren't quitting for the fantastic seniority progression due to retirements at the legacies according to you...... or the better bases.... or the worldwide higher paying widebody fleets ....

There are many valid and smart reasons to leave jb for a legacy... unless you want to stay here for the decade long upgrade on an E190 since we have NO retirements...

Many JB guys leave for other majors. I don't think you'll see many DAL/ SWA/ UAL/AK/ AA guys coming to JB.

JB is a stepping stone.

What would it be for someone hired today? How long will that person be on reserve?

The biggest reasons to leave jb are the massive retirements and the seniority that goes with it, the huge fleets of high paying widebodies and the better diversity of bases. The seniority from those retirements is priceless in terms of pay and qol.
