Ya heard it a few times... I guess 95% of the flying out of DCA is gonna be E190s.
Just heard this a bunch of times, but guys take that with a grain of salt as you can see I spend very little time working here and a lot of time at the Austin Ale House!

Cheers.

It's been "talked" about by a ck airman who now lives in va as well as a few other guys that know about them running the numbers again.

I wish it would happen but who knows.

Just flew with someone who got a call last week for an interview in 2 weeks. High time guy with lots of heavy time from overseas. Curious.. are they hiring into the bus or 190 for 2015, or both? How is that determined?

CK Airmen are a great source for ridiculous rumors. Im still waiting on the 777s we are supposed to be getting in order to start flying to Tel Aviv and Africa!

I would imagine both. You don't know till you get to class and then if there is a choice it's determined by class seniority which is by age. Some classes are all 190 or all airbus but many are mixed. Mine was 50/50 split.

Yep 100%. You have no idea until you get to class. I was told at 37 I would be one of the oldest in my class. Ha not even by a long shot.
I'm not trying to be a downer, but did you get on the E190 it's gonna be a long road of doing nothing but sitting in a crash pad away from home, but doing nothing.
I've been at a bunch of other airlines and never sat on resv doing nothing for months on end. I'm sure there are people here that can say I've been there, but I haven't.
In the busiest season for the airlines in the last 3 months I've flown a total of about 20 hours, which is awesome if you live in NY, if you don't it just sucks. Crash pad people getting mad because you basically live there (and I don't blame them) and try want you out. 2 hour call out so if your in queens your gonna need the whorl 2 hours during certain times of the day that is if you ever get called.
Line holders are at about 70 guys so if any open time comes up they take it and then you have 25 people on resv for maybe one trip a week. You get the picture.
The E190 and the A320 are like two totally different airlines (right now) at JetBlue.
I commute to NY knowing full well I'll do nothing for 5 days. It's not a whole lot of fun.

I think a lot of that has to do with how backed up training has been on the 190. I sat at home for 8 weeks before doing IOE because of lack of check airmen. Then they had to buy me trips to get me my hundred hours before I dequal'd. Since then it's been radio silence as far as getting used on rsv. Only plus side is I've been getting LCR on day 1 and 2 so it's been an extra 2 days at home.

E190 guys are going back go MCO. because they didn't get the 100 hours and that's no kidding talked go a couple the other day.
It's getting that bad, not even buying people off trips.
There is clearly a staffing problem here and it's not a short one.
They way over staffed this airplane b

Sorry mid-Atlantic commuters I don't see this happening any time soon. We have 7 gates between the three airports, 5 of them being at DCA. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to make that a crew base even if it was 7 gates at 1 airport.

It's all about hotel costs, not gates.

Like I said who really knows but I do know they have "been looking"
at it.
