jetBlue Hiring
#2271
Dead serious. I read back a few pages in this thread and saw a few posts concerning when the window opened or will open. I also see the "Work Here" section on the JetBlue website and clicked on FO Opportunities, but I was wondering if this is where we apply or do they use airlineapps also? I literally just found out my separation from the military was approved and have started submitting apps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you're serious about this, it's recoverable, but it's going to take serious effort. Hopefully you're current and high hours, because that's one thing you can't fix in a week.
In the next DAYS, you need to:
1. Get the short-notice apps done. JB will only be open a short time, and though they talk a big game about being veteran friendly, don't expect favors.
2. Get recs - recs are worth picking up the beers next time you visit. Short-notice recs are worth much more. Pay generously for those buds who are willing to take time to make your lack of preparation their personal urgency. Then pay back when you find another bud who is in a similar situation in the future.
3. If you have reservists/guardsmen in your unit, find the various airline reps, and get some mentoring. Same ROE for #2 applies here.
4. Get the other apps done. Use your mentors to figure out how to target them appropriately. Keep them updated.
5. Find the next Emerald Coast seminar and go.
Staking your future on a 1' floor save is a gutsy move, but you're not the first. If you've got the drive, you can make it happen.

On the last page or so of the app it asks for you to upload the addl' documents including any training failures, 709's , and a statement that said "you may also add letters of rec, licenses, passport etc in this section." Something to that effect.

Geez tough crowd here. To the second guy who offered advice thank you for that, but I have been working on my transition for about 9 months now. I have spent the majority of the last 9 months deployed to get as many hours as I could before I got out, but when I was home between deployments I found time to get the ATP written, 737-type, and ATP practical done along with applying to numerous Guard/Reserve units and I interviewed with one while I was home so now I'm just waiting to hear back from them. I also spent the time while I was deployed to build my civilian resume and fine tune my logbook, but after having been denied twice for the VSP I never thought it would be approved so I guess part of me thought submitting airline apps was a bit premature, but thankfully the third try was approved! Luckily I still have 5 months left on AD to get apps in and hopefully an interview before I get out even though I know how short a time that really is in the grand scheme of things. Forgive me for not keeping up to date on the exact details of the hiring of all the airlines. I try to find time to stay up to date on that stuff, but I didn't think it would be a big deal to post something asking for the most current gouge on Jet Blue. I guess I was wrong. Thank you for the advice and luck though! Cheers
Applying at the airlines and keeping up with this stuff is almost a full time job. I'd say considering all you have done so far you have done a good job and put forth tremendous effort whilst juggling many balls. Best of luck.

I went back and looked and the app I did on August 1 is gone. The one from 6 months ago is still showing received. I got a reply that my app was received but now it appears it has gone bye bye.

At least for the DAL hopefuls, I highly recommend getting your apps in early (and completely) with a realistic availability date, and keeping it updated every 60 days. If can always go in and change the date if you end up 7-day opting an assignment, or an opportunity like VSP falls out of the sky.
One would think 5 months is more than enough prep time for airlines. Like everything in aviation, "it depends."
Just a year ago, however, interview invite to class timeline was about 3-9 months at DAL (Oct interview invites for Oct-Dec interviews for . Jan-Jun classes). Now, depending on your quals, you could get called to an interview very quickly, and pilots interviewed in the past few weeks have been told to expect class as soon as August/early Sep.
SWA has been going pretty quickly as well. I've got a few friends who were in class ~3 months from hitting submit on the app.
AA interview process seems to be quite longer at present, but still pretty fast class dates after passing all the wickets (and it's quite a course).
I'm not smart on UA's process.
In 2013, the time from when I hit "send" on the app with JB to starting class was 8 months (Feb window, Mar interview, Sep class... followed by an Oct invite to DAL interview), but they've continued to change the process and don't seem to have a good handle on what they want in a pilot and when they want them. In the last round of interviews, several solid pilots went 3-4 months after a successful interview, even got told when to expect class to start, and then got an email rejection.
