I didn't say it wasn't a big deal for management, but upward movement is good for line pilots. I believe that compensation will have to improve to stop the attrition, but as a line pilot I want as many people to leave as possible before that happens. As the previous guy said, attrition is mgmts problem, moving up in seniority is a line pilots main concern.
In any case, if the attrition goes as high as you all say, it will take away the argument that "you'll never upgrade!!!"

It's all a gamble. The people leaving are gambling that the grass is greener, and nothing happens to their company. I'm gambling that things will improve here over time.
The people who win biggest are the ones who go to a carrier when it isn't the best carrier out there. Think FedEx in the early 90s, or SouthWest way back when. If you run for the airlines that are already at the top, that could be a risk.
So, for those leaving, good luck. I'm gambling on staying here. There are worse places to hang my hat. I'm still not sure why that attitude ****es you guys off.
