I have friend that was in phase 2 for about 2 months and just received a letter stating that he will not be offered a class date since he is not competitive at this time. He has over 7200TT and flies and average of 800 hours a year, so I don't think it is a currency issue. Wasn't phase 2 just a background check?

There has been some comments comments made by our MEC about needing 47% less pilots. But, as it stands today, we are having staffing problems, mainly due to attrition ( AA flow thru's, and people leaving for other carriers) so in my opinion that may not come to pass.

He was asked resign from training 10 years ago but other than that he never failed a single check ride or PC. From what he told me he disclosed everything on his application, therefore since he got the interview, despite the record, and moved on to phase two he thought he was in. Very disappointing but who knows what the real reason was. I was under the assumption that phase two was just a background check verification but there is clearly more to it.

Guys who will come onboard and be stuck at JetBlue. I.E. guys with No degree or TPIC.
There are many at JB who have both and quite a few will bail.
They don't want to invest in pilots. They would rather trap them.

^^^^^^^^^ here is one that has no idea what he is talking about or the reason people are getting TBNT letters. Good luck everyone.
