I have been wondering why I didn't even get a call and finally realized that it must be because I only have a little over a hundred hours in the last year.

I was really hoping to get a call after Vets in Blue, guess theirs always next time.
I've got 121 PIC time as well (Independence Air before they folded - I was a CRJ 200 Captain) and part 135 time before that (single pilot MU2 driver flying midnight checks out of Detroit City Airport for the Federal Reserve). Also 91K (fractional). I left full time flying a few years ago to be home every night to help deal with a family member medical issue (I was 6 on 4 off at the fracs).

I went to a 142 school and was teaching CRM, international procedures, special approaches (aspen, etc.) and the Gulfstream IV program. Also was sent to the NTSB academy and went through the aircraft accident investigators school so I could be the company incident rep. Intended to go back to full time jets eventually. I still do a bunch of GA stuff in piston recips including instructing in glass cockpit 182s)

I could see a rejection if I became a plumber over the last couple of years...but I've been an aircraft instructor and evaluator.

I had a strong advocate at JB (190 CA) and he was pulling for me the whole time (taught him how to fly around 1991 and he was my college roommate).

Appreciate the condolences everyone I really wanted to be here.

Gassr26 if you happened to go through KC135 training at Altus in 2008 and went through the new CRM course, I wrote it. Sorry if you didn't like it! I think that was also the year I got second place in the aviation safety writing contest in the AMC Air Mobility Forum (full disclosure - my background is strictly civilian so I spent a lot of fun hours getting training on the K135 and the boom sim).

I saw Jetblue Airways on the caller ID today and like an idiot answered "Yes I'll take May 28!" That was not why they were calling.

So here's my dilemma...where the heck do I go for 6 months to get jet "current?" Can't go anywhere with a training contract. I live in Dallas.

Did I mention that I resigned from the 142 job to take the regional job and when JB moved me to phase II I declined the regional class date? So I've been without an income while treading the pool.

Strictly for jet currency, go to whomever will hire you without a training contract. Of course there are always other considerations.

I don't know why some get selected and others do not. It can be frustrating to be sure. Keep applying if it's where you want to be. And try nog to take it personally.

When they call for class dates, do they call in order of your interview time slot? Earlier time slot , called first, or is it random?

I'm sorry to hear that. If you live in Dallas you might want to try ExpressJet. They have a Houston base and they don't have a training contract. That should be an easy commute for you at least. Again though, that really sucks.

Aren't they about to park 57% of the fleet?

About two weeks ago when guys behind me were getting classes dates I started thinking about plan B (started getting worried.). I shot gunned airline apps. Got an offer from Mesa over the phone for an EMB 170 date in August, interviewed at Envoy two days ago and was given a conditional, have interview with Commutair Monday. Turned down interview at Republic (two year contract). Flightsafety has terrible turn around time on PRIA (they have a "we have 30 days and are going to use it all attitude.") JB wants "6 months" in the seat. Figure two months for training and IOE, after all the paperwork clears. That puts me at nine months to a year - assuming flying on reserve which again is another variable.
