Everybody looks at the date of SLI, “Hey, you moved up 10%.” But if you look at 10 or 20 years down the line, we lose 20% or more. JB retirements are just about to pick up while Spirit has very few.

The formulas you proposed would be a windfall for most Spirit pilots—they get better pay rates plus better long term seniority.

I know the arbitrator decides and posting here is just inconveniencing millions of electrons for no apparent reason, but I really don’t understand why so many JB pilots just see a huge seniority hit as a forgone conclusion.
Hey I’m not proposing anything, As a B6 pilot I’d much prefer date of hire, I’m just expecting the worst, hoping for the best and realizing the result will fall somewhere in the middle!

Completely agree. And Spirit pilots are much younger, so the ones who get slotted in front of you, who were hired after you, have a very high probability of being younger than you, they will be in front of you for the rest of YOUR career, and your long term seniority progression will be much worse than expected.

Default Equipment lock

When assigned a fleet in class how long is the initial equipment lock? Are there quicker ways to get out of it?

Instructor in the sim last recurrent said he had a NH guy leave on the break of a sim lesson so I think it’s a little shorter than 6 months

Thats a nice hidden way to say you are worried about getting assigned the 190.
The displacement bid (for the 190 extinction) should be no later than this time next summer......so you ll get out of out either way.
Judging by your name, I'm going to remind you that you are much more likely to be ensured of a BOS domecile assignment as that is the ONLY 190 domecile. For the 320 JFK much more junior than BOS

Note: Hourly compensation is the same the first year.
...people may throw sticks and stones and call you a "Regional Pilot"....but I remind you that ONLY at JetBlue does the pilot group view the a320 as comparable to the 767

I remember when the 321s started to get plentiful on property and a capt in Orlando in the crewroom was talking about something and he said “ I only fly the heavy, I don’t fly 320s or regional jets” being dead serious and making sure the whole fking room knew that.

sounds like the SQ captain who was refusing to take a break...not wanting to leave the aircraft in control of two FO's............................like LITERALLY EVERY OTHER AIRLINE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!
