The faster this pilot group starts dealing with FACTS the better off we will be.
We have juicers and burn the house down bluepilot dudes, so as always the answer is in the MIDDLE.
We have one chance to make this union work and we will need facts not rumors to be able to make decisions as a group.
Back to hiring now.

I'd say they are both very similar, it is just a matter of what type of flying you would rather do. BOS 320 reserve will wind up with a lot of 3-day trips where you depart BOS between 6-10pm on Day 1, fly to somewhere like LAS/PHX/SDQ (usually it is SDQ) layover 24 hrs and work a redeye flight back, arriving in BOS between 6am-8am.
I'm not on the E190, so some others will have to chime in, but I suspect the reserves usually wind up with something like a 4-leg day trip consisting of an EWR turn and a PHL turn, or an uncommutable multi day trip that starts early in the morning on Day 1 and finishes late in the evening on the last day.
Both fleets probably fly roughly the same number of days per month, so it just comes down to which type of flying you prefer.

According to the 2013 PEA companion guide it shows
2nd yr: $73.52 vs. $81.68
3rd yr: $86.60 vs. $96.21
4th yr: $93.84 vs. $104.28
So a ten thousand dollar a year spread may be a decision point as well for us potential new hires.

There's also a pay differential between the two after the first year.

I just finished (hopefully) reserve on the 190 in BOS. The overwhelming majority of my trips were one day trips. Generally a dead head to operate a leg back or a simple turn. I personally did very few multi day trips while on reserve unless I pref bid for those trips. YMMV

It really depends on if you're okay with reserve or not. Okay with reserve and live in base? 320. Want to fly more hours or commute? 190.
I was off reserve a year before the guys in my class that bid the 320 were off....and a couple bounced back on to reserve after that. So, the pay difference after year one is a very complicated issue. They'll have to be line holders for a while to catch up to me. They will, but it'll be about year 3 before the pay difference between them being on reserve vs me holding an 85-90 hour line in the first year. Granted, the loss of premium pay has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced that gap.
Now that I'm in base, I'm spoiled. I don't mind reserve at all since we rarely get called. Last month was a barn burner since I was used for 50 hours. The month before that was closer to 20, and this month looks to be more in the 20-30 range based on staffing/open time. Sad thing is, I'm more likely to stay on the 190 than bid over to the 320 when I have the shot because I like staying home. 320 guys fly a bit more on average, and I'd prefer not to do island red eyes all the time.
