Be prepared for it to get much worse if the vote fails.

Lets be honest TX. The out of pocket expenses were not changed significantly this year in an effort to help bolster the airlines position against the union.
As a new hire your best bet is to budget the current amount at a minimum. Jetblue does not intend to make insurance more affordable.

Hiring
So if jetBlue is not going to have any classes in the summer, are they being optimistic in still having interviews in March? Can they realistically get those candidates into a May class or will they have to wait for September?
I also read somewhere on there that there's a Mid April and end of April class but only one May class? Is that accurate?
Do they cap the class size depending upon how many transitions / upgrades are going through at the same time?
thanks

JBU instructors will be focusing their attention on implementing the new international training course over the summer months and will decrease, or stop, new hire classes. After the new course comes out, all new-hire pilots, and pilots flying the bulk of the international ops, will receive an extra day of training.
350 is the new # of pilots they expect to hire in 2014, down from 400-500....due to lower than expected attrition so far this year.

After that little excursion over the Andes the FAA realized Jetblues international ops class and training was pretty pathetic. Thankfully they are being forced to change.
The majority of pilots hired early on had extensive international experience. The pilots today are primarily coming from regional carriers where this type of flying isn't an option. The airline has been doing a disservice to the new hires and the crews as a whole with the training. Safety is not cheap.

Want a hand? Of course you've got to get me a class date ASAP! I just finished teaching initial and recurrent International Procedures for that expensive Warren Buffett school. I also wrote, developed, and delivered a good percentage of the courseware for other courses (Aspen LOC/DME 15, RNAV Z, CRM, Pilot Monitoring, etc). Put me in coach.
