You either support your fellow pilots or you do not. It's obvious which camp you're in, despite your claims otherwise. Actions speak much louder than words.

Life isn't black and white, no matter how much you try to make it so.

Sometimes things really are as simple as black and white. This is one of those things. You can try and make yourself feel better about your non-support by attempting to muddle the waters but most see through your charade.

No charades here.

Any idea if anyone from the open house has been called yet?

Yes.

I would be stunned if anyone would actually cross the line, member or not. Maybe if they were near retirement or something.

And I believe your article is about making comparisons to the general population that you think are doing better than yourself. That is not where we are. Our benchmark is our specific professional peers. And we are dramatically behind. So I call B S and choose to let others know that reality so they can make a truly informed decision. There is NOTHING appealing about JB as a major airline employer right now. Period.

You can happy-think your way into being happy about that. I won't mind F myself into being satisfied with being the worst compensated major airline pilot in MY professional peer group.
What he said. I'm not unhappy and even come across to my fellow pilots as pretty happy even when I'm dealing with the B6 BS. I'm not happy with the current state of affairs here, however, and I'm happy to discuss that on the line and at this forum so prospective applicants have a more realistic perspective than the one you (Southerner) and the company project. I don't let manipulative, two-faced, cynical management and their enablers affect my personal happiness, so you can keep your FordHarrison psych articles.

I'm sorry, but it's more than just wearing the lanyard. The point of the union asking you to wear the lanyard is to show management our solidarity and resolve to achieve a market rate CBA. If you can't comply with that request, that is a middle finger to this pilot group and you can't be counted on to back us up when it comes time for picketing. We all make a judgement call... management's judgement call is that they have pilots in their camp when they see guys without the lanyard.

Simple as that.

Yes, it's black and white.

When do we get to roll that giant inflatable rat to Long Island City? An oversized rat in NY has got to be pretty common so it may not generate much interest.
