What is the logic in only accepting apps a few times a year? There's nothing Walmart about it, every airline needs pilots, there is 0 logic in only allowing people to apply at specific times.

Well up until now they could afford to have two, two week app windows a year. Now it's open all the time? I get it some of that has to do with the hiring environment in general, but a lot has to do with the fact that nobody wants to come here for our crappy pay and expensive or senior bases.

Delta isn't hurting for apps, and they don't do the window twice a year thing. They also don't make you wait months before telling someone they are hired. This is one area we should aspire to be like Delta.

Delta can make you wear a pink ballerina outfit and dance in the middle of times square and they would still get apps. Why? Because they have the best contract, but in this industry, the place to be today, isn't always the place to be tomorrow.

We should have a system that doesn't purge all the applications and make you reapply every time a new window opens, that is just dumb. Apply once and update often.

I believe they used to use the short app wndows and dumping of applications from the previous window to determine which applicants REALLY wanted to be here.

Now, no one wants to be here. So no more app windows and they probably won't be dumping the apps.

First we should aspire to have their pay rates, work rules, hotel standards, retirement and insurance, etc etc etc. We are so far behind here it isn't even funny.

I thought the same as well. I went to save it and afterwards when I checked it, the apps in progress section writes "expires May 30, 2017".

I was almost thinking of not applying.... Honestly Delta, United, American in third. JetBlue is good, but obviously they're far behind the legacies in many respects.

No one huh? No need for the over dramatics. I have friends that can't get a call from here, and they want to be here. It's certainly not a legacy, fedex, ups or swa, but it's not the worst place to be. I have strong confidence that we will get a contract that can compete with them. Beat? maybe not, but certainly close. BTW, what's with the hashtags? We're not in high school...

It's really not funny! We need a contract.

Its a running joke directed at a certain juicer here, not a real hashtag- where you been?
