I was just told that the window is open for pilots again and wanted to get someone's opinion on weather I should even bother.
1700TT, only 200 turbines, 450 multi crew/engine
Former Capeair F/O, left because I couldnt afford to stay. 10 years in military although not a mil pilot.
With that in mind should I just wait or do I have a chance? Thanks

The window is now pretty much open continuously. They are not getting anywhere near the applications as they did in the past now that more majors are hiring. Guys qualified for the majors are going there and forgetting this place. You can't blame them as the pay and everything else is far superior unless you live in FLL, MCO, or maybe BOS to avoid the commute, beyond that there is little reason to come to B6

It probably goes without saying, but even after you submit your application, keep logging on regularly (every month at a minimum) and update your profile/flight time information. Upload a current resume that matches the hourly totals in your profile each time as well. You'd be surprised by how many people forget to do this. JetBlue may not be this picky, but I do know of airlines that will disqualify you if they see your app has been inactive for a long period.

Also if you broke the FO agreement with Cape Air that may be looked upon unfavorably. Pure speculation though.

With minimums falling ever lower at UAL and DAL, and AAL e-mailing its pilot group that its OTS civilian hiring pool is draining fast, are people still recommending JetBlue?? It seems like one's efforts are better spent on targeting a legacy full out than an LCC....
