Supposedly.... From a guy... So take with a grain of salt:
Shake up in the school house
Pipe is full
Instructors ****ed off and quitting almost as fast as newhires
No upgrades for this sys bid
190 fleet std capt being asked to go fly the line
Bottom line, we need about 500 guys to cover the next 12-18months and don't know how to get them online.
Fwiw...

If this turns out to be the case, I wonder if we'll see a slow in interviewing. Anyone get or heard of an invite to interview for a date after the 11/18/19th of March round?

Fosters, great questions. Keep in mind this is merely a message board and facts get distorted for whatever agenda a poster has in mind.
Continue to do your own due diligence. Read about the history of the companies you are considering; see how many pilot groups have lost pensions, been furloughed, been parties to lawsuits against their unions for misrepresentation (not to mention how nearly bankrupt certain unions will become if they don't get more members due to the costs of said lawsuits). Look at the upgrade times and the growth of the companies (or contraction as the case may be). Look at age of fleet and new aircraft orders, corporate debt, earnings history, management salaries, all that good stuff.
FWIW I spoke to a very senior Capt at one of the largest legacy carriers a few days ago who said he knows several guys that were recently called back after being furloughed. They all said no thanks and chose to stay at JB.

As for the part concerning due diligence, don't forget to include that under the DR JetBlue pilots work rules can and have been changed by an email and never for the betterment of pilot QOL. Also, be sure and pencil out the math over the course of your career. Just because our rates look good doesn't present the whole picture. Our insurance and retirement is among the worst in the industry. We don't even compare to a Starbucks barista with our insurance.
My advice, if you come here, keep looking.

BS alert. Working here, I can tell you that unless those pilots are in management positions or are to old to return to the legacy you are talking about for a full career, they are leaving.
