That's because it is. B6 pilots are learning what its like working for a non-union outfit that can and will change the rules at a whim.

Do any of you think other major carriers honor 100% of thier contracts? Grievences number in the hundreds at some carriers so to think the grass is greener is unwise.

All carriers have thier issues and JB is no different. I get fustrated with the constant changes and the non-standard interpretations of company policy and procedurs too. But there are scheduling and pay benefits here that far exceed anything I had at NWA (ex. Premium pay above 70hrs, Reserve scheduling, Flica, PTO, Junior Pay).

Do I have to mention the less than friendly attitudes crewmembers have towards one another at United, AMR, US Airways and Northwest compaired to what they are at JB as well?

Is JetBlue hiring dolts right of Air Universities? This clown "Front Office" obviously has no clue about the airline industry. He should get out once in awhile and talk to folks at other joints and see how green the grass is. As Borat would say...."NOT!"

Holly **** then my friend was telling the truth, they said they made a real big mistake going to JetBlue. I didn't believe him but after hearing the thread starter it may be true.

A friend of mines buddy is someone very high up at JB. They offered my friend to walk in the resume, my friend said he didn't feel like making $60 per hour for the next years with no upgrades in sight, so he declined. Signs of times at JB.

This is the kind of sentiment that is the problem with our industry. I always wonder what a scab is thinking when they are willing to work for a company where 95-99% of the guys just voted to risk their careers and strike. Do they think the pay and working conditions are OK for them. Don't they think they would be part of that 99% if they were there before the vote?

Toilet, I don't think you are a scab but you need to rethink your position on this.

Mike, correct me if I'm wrong and I'll probably get burnt to a total crisp here, but what the heck. Isn't a scab someone who crosses a picket line? Meaning, the union members are on strike and therefore no work is being done. In an effort to keep work going, the company hires other people off the streets. These other people may or may not be union members themselves. Whatever they might be, they are scabs because they took jobs that once belonged to the strikers.

However, if one of the union members decides to quit his job because he hates it there or he found something else better, the person hired to take his place is not a scab. In other words, if there is no strike, there can be no scabs.

So using this definition and this "fact pattern," Duck is not a scab. Right?

(I'd just like a "yes" or "no" answer since I don't want to turn this into yet another "what's a scab" thread).

No, Toilet Duck is not a scab. He however is participating in lowering the standard pay for pilots.

You are correct. He is not a scab (as I indicated). I just feel that if someone hates the job and tells you why, what makes anyone think they will like it? I can see going there for experience but once they get it...

I think you get my point. It is hard enough to get 60% of a group to agree on something. When 99% agree to put it all on the line, they must have a good point. That's all.
