so you took a low paying airline job and hope others don't do the same so you can hopefully make more. here's a news flash for you YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. You took that job so get a clue, there a thousands just like you and you won't be seeing jetblue pay more in the near future.

I grew up within two hours of JFK, and QOL can be great. Some great places in Conn., NJ that you can afford. Even PA. You can make it within two hours from Darien Conn, or even Danbury. Depends on your family situation.
No offense meant, Meworry. I just can't imagine living anywhere near NYC. Traffic, crappy roads, ****ed-off people, Hilary Clinton , etc...
Of course, 2 hours range within JFK during the two rush hours is Kew!

All American BOEING!!! or french airbus/Brazillian jungle jet at Brazillian pay??????
New York Yankees (SWA) or Kansas City Royals (JB) no disrespect to Royal fans?????
Filet mignon (SWA) or tuna casserole (JB)???

You might check on the "All American" Boeing outsourcing, BTW.

Captain Dad--

I think Automatique is right on with his advice. In the end this will solve itself based on who offers you a job and when.

I can only give you info about Southwest so PM me if you want more info. The upgrade at SWA is getting longer every year. It's approaching 7 years at every base except BWI (let's not even talk about DAL). That's to be expected as it takes longer to move up a longer seniority list. F/O pay is pretty good now and the schedules are good so it's definitely liveable.

no, he's probably still employed by a major who used to pay well until the "i wanna be a pilot even if i have to pay THEM" crowd took over the industry and alpa stood around with their thumb in their ass trying to find a clue somewhere.

word: JB ain't gonna be around for the long-term. it's a scam. just watch and wait.

Sorry charlie very much employed.

If you don't see the flaw in his thinking (which I think you don't) that's frightning. He takes a low paying job and hopes that others don't do the same. there are thousands just like him who will take a job at jetblue because it pays more then the regional that they work at now. when virgin america starts up they could bring back pay for training and they would still have thousands of hungry little pilots waiting at there door step.
