No they actively touted it linked with mandatory allocation after the annual bid as a way to increase the seniority list even if the airline stagnates as each year you will have 2 cohorts progressing from year 9-10 and another from 19-20 thus generating more vacation weeks which would need to be covered.

It's safe to say there will be displacements on this years bid. So how does this play out let's say for a Jr JFK 320 CA getting displaced, let's say somebody in the 3000+ seniority range. They want to keep their 320CA seat in JFK..... but let's say they're not senior enough...and their fallback is either BOS320 CA or JFK220CA....... Do they go ahead of a more senior pilot, let's say a senior FO (2000 seniority #) who is bidding the same thing for the first time?

so in your example the displaced Jr 320 CA would go first, and the new bidder would need to have an open vacancy to fill a CA seat. They couldn’t bump someone out like the displaced jr 320 CA could.

within an effective date of a bid containing vacancies and displacements the processing order is first all of the displacements happen. Those displaced pilots can go wherever their seniority can hold. There doesn’t need to be an open vacancy for them to displace. After the displacements are processed then the vacancies are filled with regular bidders.

Yes, keep in mind the displaced JR JFK 320 CA would be getting displaced and able to use his seniority to go anywhere and bump someone else, so you don’t need a vacancy compared to the Senior FO bidding for a vacancy. Make sure your Involuntary Displacement Bid is updated with the seats you want in the event of a displacement (and put your current seat as priority #1)

Also keep in mind you will get displacement rights come the annual bid as well. So if they do add vacancies on the annual bid, you will have rights to your position before other vacancy bidders.

Hello im trying to understand something here from reading the comments.
If a pilot was displaced from A320 CA JFK in the supplemental bid of june 2023 and has displacement rights until march 2025.
Will that pilot get the CA JFK 320 award back most likely in the 2024 supplemental bid since it would be for 2025 staffing?

It would be crazy to have an effective date in feb 2025 a month prior to expiration of rights. My opinion
