Overstaffed on captains, low retirement numbers, shrinking of routes.. pretty soon they'll have to offer signing bonuses to new hires.

I haven't given it a lot of thought, but this 120 CA E190 displacement probably gives them an opportunity to trim some left seat positions.

yes it's a reduction of about 80 CAs

For the August system bid shouldn't the effective dates be before march 31st 2025?

The first effective date will be April 1, according to what they said in recurrent.

This. Just like the last bid, it will allow the annual to clean up any mess with some guys not having to actually move from their seats at all.

Ok so maybe that helps the displaced 320Cas with the expiring rights of MArch 2nd next year

It will not. Based on the effective dates, no pilots will have prior claim rights with this supplemental bid.

Yes, but with one effective date, they can't enter training until 120 days prior to Mar 31. So, its possible these displaced pilots will get another CA seat back in the annual without having to go to downgrade training.

Even if they dont, these are very junior CA's that capitalized on a dying fleet to upgrade. They should have all known that the writing was on the wall.
