If this merger happens we will be the fifth largest airline in the US flying all over the US, Caribbean, South America, multiple routes to Europe, soon (most likely) Hawaii, and widebodies within a few years of completion.

The "sky truckers" at both companies (but mostly Spirit) will need to spit out their chaw, take their Dale Earnhart Jr posters down, and start to think "re-cage" who they should be comparing themselves to.

recent ALPA email:

The Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) is scheduled to begin negotiations with management for a Transition and Process Agreement (TPA) on January 16 in New York City. The TPA is the multi-party agreement between the two companies and MECs that establishes the framework within which a joint collective bargaining agreement (JCBA) is negotiated, an integrated seniority list is implemented, and the separate pilot/flight operations are maintained pending JCBA ratification and merger of pilot groups in accordance with ALPA Merger Policy. You can expect to receive updates on TPA negotiations from the JNC.

And even more important than that, management doesn't get to present a contract designed to get 50% +1. The Joint Negotiating Committee gets to decide what gets TA'd. They are our firewall to protect us from ourselves.

Either way, the Aug 24 JetBlue rates are the absolute floor for JCBA negotiations, and nothing below that even matters.

You guys have much better reserve grid rules, and your beloved DTZ, and as another poster pointed out, your own claim to be able to significantly out-earn us with your "work rules". Whether that is true or not, I see no reason to give you our rates, which would give you guys a better overall CBA than us, per your own pilots previous posts. All while we get nothing tangible for the effort, and are stuck with our current non-functional reserve grids.

We all have much to gain and much to correct with this JCBA. We will all wait and enjoy the spoils at that same time.
Clearly you don't believe in the "a rising tide lifts all boats" theory. Recommend you not tie up to any pilings in the ocean then.

Oh please, tell me more! I just can't WAIT to get balls deep in this JCBA/SLI so I can learn SO MUCH from you cosmopolitan JetBlue pilots! Maybe one of you can help me bandage my knuckles too, seeing as to how they've been dragging on the ground for so long?

News flash skippy: while a portion of your pilot group was riding the coattails of all of us unionized carriers for years, a portion of our group was participating in a lawful strike to better ourselves and the industry as a whole. Right after you ask me about my "ask me about my 4 days off" sticker, maybe you'll ask me about that star on my pin.

Stay in your lane and knock it off with the name calling and generalizations or you'll play right into your (and probably our future) management's hands.

A guy doesn’t give away his purple ribbon pig. He sells it to the highest bidder at auction.

I won’t put words in Drivers mouth, but what does JBALPA get by bringing Pay Parity in TPA? Nothing is free friend.

Nope, never use it. You know there's other nuggets in our work rules too, right? Or are you too busy trying to put NK guys down on APC to actually research our agreement and it's real-world applicability?

I believe a rising tide lifts all boats, in the ocean.

If life and in economics, way too many examples of superyachts rising much higher and faster than the rest of us, all while being TOLD that rising tide was going to lift the rest of us.

But your own example fails... You want us to raise YOUR boat. As for JCBA, it would make no difference other than to boost your overall CBA while we wait for a JCBA, while doing nothing for us. And would have no meaningful affect on the final outcome.

According to several of your own, you guys are already out-earning us anyway. Roll eyes.
