Go back and look at this guys previous posts. Clearly got a stiffy for JB's demise. Calls BK imminent...JB cant survive without merger.

Either a butthurt F9 guy or didn't get hired at Blue.

You are definitely right about his little tiny stiffy for JB's demise. It's a strange fetish.

Ok I'm bored and will bite. Please explain how jetblue is failing and how we are doomed if we get Spirit and doomed if we don't? I'm genuinely curious becuase all your previous posts just say we are doomed and going bankrupt or will be but then haven't backed up those claims. I could use some entertainment.

You aren't lying. I wanted to see if he backed up those claims elsewhere but it was just a bunch of posts about we are doomed regardless of the outcome.

HAL CEO says they're open to other offers...

https://liveandletsfly.com/hawaiian-...es-ceo-merger/

Not to get greedy, but... it'd be pretty sweet if we pulled a Virgin back on Alaska. Not sure our pocketbook or legal team could support it, but fun to fantasize!

Alaska has VERY deep pockets. Deeper than JB's, especially with this elephant NK JB is eating right now. I'm afraid it is literally a fantasy. Now, does the whole enchilada come together at some point in the future? That is definitely possible, under a very different DOJ.

The overtures that JetBlue has made doesn't seem like they want to be merely an alliance partner, and it seems very much that Hawaiian seeks to maintain its cultural identity. That may be a little too much culture under one roof, especially if B6 has aspirations to be mentioned in the same breath as legacy carriers. On its face, financing aside, it would be an interesting addition into a saturated competitive market that would otherwise be very difficult during the coming growth phase. In reality, I can just see the headlines when execs from "New York's airline" come in with a whole new identity. Would you want to be the CEO on the front page in this modern era erasing Pacific Islander identity? Might as well replace the flowers with the Yankees logo and write "Blue out the Maui blaze" on the side of their planes...

I could see a future with something similar to the big European holding groups like IAG, Lufthansa Group, AF-KLM where they operate many brands. Jetblue/Alaska/Hawaiian all under one parent company with separate brands. Same labor group similar to something like SkyWest/Republic operating many certificates at the same time but mechanisms for pilots to switch between them

It wasn't me who was suggesting JB pursue HA, and I hadn't said whether it would or would not be a good idea. I was responding to someone else's fantasy.

And it still very much remains an open question if Alaska can/will get the synergies/efficiencies/brand-network relevance traditionally sought by airline mergers by operating two separate brands.

But, JB was in talks with HA after the VA merger fell through, but ultimately determined the network synergies and other desired benefits just weren't there.

But, if JB was to acquire HA, I do not believe they would operate it as a completely separate brand, but likely as a distinctly and subtly different part of the JB brand.

I don't know if you're aware, but Alaska only has ETOPS on some of its 737s. The ones that go to-from Hawaii have leis around Barbara Bush on the tails.

If JB had acquired HA, I would have expected the sub-fleet that operated in that theater to be called Blue Hawaiian or similar, painted on the side and used for branding in that part of the network.

So that’s what they are drinking down in the Lodge 😂

I think it boils down to who will be in the drivers seat of the next merger. If JetBlue mgmt has their way they yes it will be Blue lei logos and Barb wearing a blue coat. If Alaska has their way then the merger will have distinct separate brands. I’m thinking this will be option #2.
