Umm they aren’t scared. FYI the the general public only owns about 35% of Spirit. Any idea who owns the most? JetBlue can kick and scream all they want, but it’s going to be really really difficult to block the F9/NK merger. Frankie/Indigo partners are so intertwined with Spirit they’ve been planning this for years.

I doubt they did this out of spite. B6 feels like they have a legitimate shot here imoho.

So you think the institutional investors who own NK stock are going to turn down a premium stock price offer from B6? This deal has nothing to do with retail investors. It's all about the toots. And do you think B6 would come out this aggressive this morning with that statement and NOT having talked with those voters? They can count. They know what they need to get the Frontier deal voted down. My guess is they have those votes.

Or like a business that knew this course of action was one of several eventualities that they were prepared to go with once the initial offer was made. B6 management won’t be meeting you at the jet bridge with longing eyes and awkward hugs. They won’t be liking your pictures on social media or using shallow pretense to text you. It’s just business.

Yes I do, when all the “toots” go to the country club owned by the guy trying to make this merger happen, it seems pretty obvious to me. You sound confident it will swing the other way. If this doesn’t reek of desperation on JetBlue’s part I don’t know what does. Speaking of desperate that statement from your fearless leader was just that.
I could be wrong, but I guess we will see after June 10th.

You say that like it is something to be proud of? Read the slide deck on the jetblue website. Lots of variables at play here.
