I however will not cross seatbelts or dig trash from seats.
“To be clear, our plan would be to acquire Spirit and merge it into JetBlue. The combined airline would fly under the JetBlue brand and be based in New York City. We would retrofit the fleet to a common JetBlue experience on all aircraft. That’s not to say we can’t learn from Spirit and incorporate things they do well into JetBlue. We would conduct a full review of Spirit’s product offering and Customer technology to bring together the best of both airlines.”

it says “a” common jetblue experience, not “the current” jetblue experience. So, they might not gain anything. We might lose a few inches of pitch.

Steerage sucks for everyone with no leg room regardless of what paint is on the outside of the plane.

Ours was actually pretty nice. The extra 4 inches make a huge difference.

(I know, I know. Thats what she said.)

That’s what everyone says, but add a pocket and some magazines that no one reads and the extra room is down to not much. But the seats recline and probably have something resembling cushioning which has us beat every which way.

you're kidding right? As a commuter I can tell you hands down that our economy seats have a lot more space than anyone else I've flown on. It makes a huge difference.

So with an ALPA/ALPA Seniority List Integration, do you retain seniority relative to the pilots from your original airline?

Lets say I’m a Jetblue FLL 320 First Officer, and there’s two guys who were in new hire class with me 5 years ago… The guy 1 number above me is a BOS 190 FO and the guy below me is a JFK 320 CA. When the new list comes out, are we in the same order, just with Spirit guys between us, or is the guy 1 below me now hundreds of guys senior because he’s a Captain, and the guy 1 senior to me now way down the list because he’s on the 190?

Yea same order relative to your company.. the seniority lists aren’t rearranged by seniority in seat or anything weird like that.

The arbitrator will determine a method based on each unions arguments of relative seniority, longevity or career expectation etc and slot the pilots in via a ratio, multiple ratios within ranges or frankly whatever he(or they as a group) decide.

I just hope we can put a 2nd jumpseat back in the spirit planes if this ends up happening.
