I for one welcome the future of our blue overlords. This yellow bus has been a non stop $hit-show since I got here. If it wasn't for living in base I'd be updating my apps, then again maybe I should anyway...

I honestly think it’s going to happen. It’s no coincidence that Ben Baldanza sits on our board. It’s probably been in the works for a while. I think it would be mutually beneficial for both pilot groups.

Ugh. The union must have known about this. What a slap in the face. B6 pilots are going to be bent over in this deal. Spirit has been growing like crazy while we stagnated.
Gonna be junior to a a 3 year hire. Where did the money for this come from anyway. I thought we were struggling, what with our amazing CBA and all, I thought 3% was all they could find in the couch cushions...
"Organic growth." All new hires should get thier apps out there now because the stagnation this will bring will be the stuff of legends.

so B6 said 3% was all they could offer you guys cuz they were saving the $3,600,000,000 for NK cash deal? I’m surprised the union doesn’t make a stink about this. That money could’ve given you guys an incredible contract and pay raise

No…they didn’t save 3.6B for the Spirit deal.

Longevity doesn’t really mean anything Against relative seniority. If you’re B6 and 50%. As long as you stay 50%. It’s fair. Who cares if a 3 year guy is same 50% with you. And your a 7 year guy. NK guys is 50% at his company and you’re 50 at yours. You should both stay at 50ish. That’s the most reasonable expectation. No one is losing anything

it won’t happen. $33 a share is very weak. We immediately increased to $26 after the announcement. Would spirit really sell out for a mere $7 over market? Spirit stock was consistently in the 50s and once at 80/share. I can’t imagine anyone owning shares of spirit would vote on this. Especially since some of the large investors that own a decent chunk have invested probably well above 30/share. So selling out now at this price would be a loss. Versus F9 deal. 1.9 shares of F9 is a good deal. Future value could be worth 3-400% over this deal
I believe NK is “entertaining” B6 just like they entertained the Boeing growth. It’s a business strategy to get F9 higher. Ultimately I think NK will pass on B6 regardless.
just my worthless opinion. That and $5 will get you a coffee at Starbucks

Well, they had 3.6B available to offer more than 3%. The reason our CBA is below average has never been because the company couldn't afford more. Its because B6 pilots are eager to accept less, as LOA 17 showed.
The $3.6B offer didn't happen literally the next day for no reason. They are using money they weren't sure they would have to make this offer. Money that was probably earmarked for actual concessions to the pilot group. Good thing for them 60% of our pilots don't understand leverage.

Some of the 3.6B was debt financed by Goldman Sachs to fund this transaction with Spirit, so it’s not money they can freely spend. A 30 million dollar transaction for the LOA is a drop in the bucket to them. I don’t think they were patiently waiting for the LOA 17 results to see how much money left they had in their piggy bank to buy Spirit. Also the 3.6B offer didn’t occur on April 5th, the day after the vote, it was only made public then.
