orlando isn't on the coast. that's probably the farthest inland base we have. newark opens this month. not really sure what kind of percentage breakdown you want, so i'll just post the numbers. you can do your own dividing. jsq is jfk based flying to london right now.

Unless I fat fingered my calculator, you have 2,470 based in BOS/JFK out of 3,584…. 69% of your pilots in 2 bases?!

Yeah, there are 1,000 pilots missing somewhere. But still doesn't surprise me the 60-70% are based in JFK/BOS. Look at the JB route map... They very intentionally saturated those two metro areas, but the runway for future growth there is there, but much more limited. They want to expand nationally, without any doubt. So I wouldn't assume in any way that they would want 60-70% of 7,500 pilots based in the northeast...

As of the April seniority list, we have 4472. The breakdown above looks copied from July's PBS bid packet, so only eligible bidders.

And I believe I read somewhere, probably jetblueoffersmore.com, that they wouldn't plan on making significantly more expansion in the northeast with the acquisition. Time will tell cause ya know, it's still mgmt saying it.

So do we think this thing is happening? Is the Spirit BOD trying to salvage something for themselves between now and the 30th?

One, extending the vote because they knew it wouldn't pass which was probably coordinated with F9... Perhaps to renegotiate the F9 offer and see what kind of "plausible" spin they can put on it being still a lower...but closer to JB amount.
Or two, F9 can't get close and are like you said negotiating a deal where NK saves face and they get something from the deal.
I absolutely do not think 33 being the first offer JB made for us was their best and final. Never show your hand. Even if F9 were to counter..I think JB has a bit more to offer. I don't think they let this go.
I'm really hoping your management comes correct so I don't have to if even temporarily work for F9.
