Honestly I kind of got annoyed about the idea of not engaging management that the union (boston)just put out.
Anyway long rant sorry.

It's sad that you just don't get it after all this time. We speak as one collective voice through our MEC, our Reps, and our committees. Period. When you stray from that strategy and go to your BBQ socials and fill out your speak up surveys and email foodie Jim, you have changed absolutely nothing. The company however, has successfully convinced you to A, disregard instructions from your union (disrupting unity) and B, put a sliver of false hope in your mind that they actually care about what you think (also disrupting unity). This wasn't a wink wink nod nod type of request. No one can confuse the desires of the MEC on this one and yet you ignore them anyways. Guess what? Our contract #2 will be just as crappy and below average as contract #1 thanks to guys like you who just really want to be nice guys and engage with management.

You all keep treating JetBlue like the place you want it to be rather than the place that it actually is. Stop. Open your eyes and accept reality. Quit trying to pretend it's the place they sold you in the brochure when you came and interviewed. You were duped, we all were. The sooner everyone accepts that the better off we will all be.

I would doubt Joe did the speak up survey. But, I have to agree with Joe that the union does NOT seem to be aggressive about pushing for LOA improvements to Profit Sharing or other items. The union should be actively pushing out messaging about how our Profit Sharing formula is nearly dead last among our peer set, continuously.

The entire group (nearly) is disgusted with the formula and it's resulting payout, so that drum should be beat loudly. AA recently achieved Profit Sharing formula improvements OUTSIDE of section 6 negotiations due to labor unrest, we should be doing everything possible to achieve the same.

I reject ENTIRELY the notion that JB pilots should just sit and color regarding Profit Sharing simply because the pilots voted for the CBA. Most felt like it was the only/best choice given 2 terrible alternatives (yes or no). And furthermore and most of all, JB management told the union negotiating committee in ABSOLUTE NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, that this was the ONLY Profit Sharing plan they would agree to. Period. So ultimately this is managements Profit Sharing plan, forced on it's pilots. Pilots (and all work groups) that I've seen all around me seem to care .002 about the company's operation lately, which is exactly how much management incentivized them to care.

The union should aggressively and very publicly be pushing for a Profit Sharing LOA.

The rest of what you said was actually very true, and many on this board would do well to read and understand it, because you are 100% correct.

Great- I cant wait until you get involved with your forward thinking and superior leadership skills.
Seriously, are you all bluster, or do you plan on taking aggressive action and negotiating our next contract?

WE? just curious by what you mean by that. I was at the union meetings, they (insert a overwhelming majority of the pilot group) were not. Asking for a friend.

Don't worry, my post wasn't directed at you. I would never include you in any "we" statement. We all know who's side you are on and have always been on. Is that office warmed up for you in LSC yet? I hear there will be an opening soon.
