The goal was 400 guy in class “hired” this year. The fact that they even got into the high 300s shocked me.

Good economy or not, come 2022 with ~22 A220 deliveries plus the scheduled A320 deliveries, no way they add that much capacity... If not before, certainly in 2022 some E90s get parked.

I'd bet dollars on that one.

Not sure how else he might have gotten from 364 to 409. Hopefully he will stop by soon to clear up the mystery.

Just went to recurrent, and my instructor said they are being told the 190 will go to zero new hires for Jan and Feb due to lower attrition than expected on that fleet. So all new hires to 320 for a couple of months, looks like. YMMV
