Yep. I've been in the simulator and flown it. It's an airplane. Got fancy screens. The trip mix just isn't good enough for my taste. I don't really care which airplane I fly. It's about QOL for me, not how flashy the plane is. The A320/A321 flies just fine, and it's comfortable. I think the "it's new tech" argument is somewhat stupid.
There are some positives with some of the newer tech though; the screen layout/system does give you some flexibilty in your systems/comms layout, and they are (I'm told) relatively easy/cheap to swap out if required. Flying to LPV mins is a nice option to have in the tool kit, too. The ECL system is pretty nice for trapping errors, and it really does cut down a lot of workload. It pressurizes really well, which feels less fatiguing. It sips fuel and if they ever decide to put a Mint-like section on board, I think it'll be a really nice compliment to the 320 fleet.
It's definitely got its quirks, but we seem to be getting better at dealing with them as the knowledge sinks in. The company has made a lot of progress with learning how to operate and fly it, and I think it could have a bright future here.

I’m glad the POS narrative is still alive though. It’s really the only way most pilots can have a 30% seniority bump over the A320 with just giving up 4-5% pay….at least for now.

pretty sure a dose of reality is coming for a number of those pilots with that idea in about 4 days…

Well if a lot of people “think” that bidding the 220 is asking for a gate return for MX every other leg, that dose of reality will only last until the August system bid.

As for "why?", I would presume to let the dust settle and numbers to arrange themselves after the displacement bid that just occurred, in addition to the fact that the A220 has an IOE wait time of around 1 to 1.5 months (and growing). Summer is historically not the best for hiring, most airlines slow hiring around this time every year. With hiring being slow at the big 3, attrition here is also slow, and we're really only hiring for attrition. Things will pick back up in the Fall.
