Class Drops

Depends, last month JFK 320 CAs had a bunch of VILs but ~10 went unfilled due to lack of additional bidders. When they offer smaller amounts of VILs they tend to go very senior. It has been all over the place in terms of numbers the past few months, so kind of difficult to predict.

If there were more bidders would the company have issued more VILs? I think it is likely.

kind of a red herring. There were 16 JFK CA Vils denied due to vacation, training or bid status. No other base was even awarded Vils after being offered.

The point I was trying to make is that VILs sometimes go senior and sometimes go junior. In the March example the most junior eligible bidder was awarded a VIL and they still had not reached the max available number. Maybe 71 is coincidentally all that the company wanted to award and there were only 71 eligible bidders. The MIL/vac/training denials were pilots who didn’t read the eligibility requirements and put in a bid anyways

Basically boiling it down… few FOs got one, most CA could get one. Seems like the CAs and FAs are most overstaffed, also seem like the 2 groups that always look for very high credit months so most open time gets grabbed instantly. FO side less staffed and guys less likely to pick up open time. Just what I gather from guys on the line.
