I have buddy that left B6 for UAL. He regrets the decision but isn't coming back.

Without some overriding reason to give up seniority to go to another carrier, it often just doesn't make sense. Go somewhere that you can stand to work, and stay there through thick and thin. Hopping around only sucks away years of longevity that you might need to weather an economic downturn someday.

B6 isn't a bad place to be. You can make a good living here. It sure beats any regional hands-down. And the pilot group is excellent. You could not pay me enough to fly next to the miserable AA crowd. Holy crap they are mad at life. That sort of BS just doesn't exist here, for the most part. (I know there are a few winners out there.) That fact is something that people just don't place enough value in, until you go somewhere like UAL or AA and it slaps you in the face, while sitting on airport reserve.

That and $5 will buy you a slice of pizza though. We all have to look in the mirror, and be happy with our life choices.
I was alluding to the fact that they left JetBlue only to come back and start at the bottom. Same for the NK crowd. Sounds like a bad deal and a waste of time, but it is what it is

Still hard to believe. All my FOs that have left for either UAL or DL are all trying to convince me to come. They love it there. One guy, even before getting to the line, was already bidding 40% in base!

I have A LOT of buddies at AA and this has not been their experience at all, far from it. The angry culture from all the mergers is RAPIDLY retiring. Just like FedEx was the place to go in the past , AA has changed and is no longer full of disgruntled guys.

Cool. Have they also fixed their reassignment rules?

I believe with their new contract any reassignment is 150% so I’m sure the company wants to avoid them as much as possible.

So I guess EWR is stagnant and/or shrinking? Really trying to avoid driving to JFK post merger

For now it seems that way. It was a covid idea to build up EWR, which worked for a while, then the NEA happened and all resources were shifted to LGA/JFK. Now that’s done and the plan seems to be merge with NK so we can expand out of the NE area in general 🤷‍♂️I don’t see EWR getting much bigger than it is today, but hope I’m wrong.

I do wonder if we ever see SQ flying out of there to Europe, that could be interesting if we wanted to really go against UA (not saying we’d be much of a challenge) 👀

My friend at B6 says they pulled back in Newark mostly due to aircraft availabilty. They have more slots for Newark that they want to use again eventually. So after the merger more Newark flying could happen. So he says.
