It ought to be used exactly for what it is: a stepping stone to a real career airline. Maybe one that values its employees’ contributions via profit sharing or something like that.

The airline is what it is. Has some pros and some cons. But it’s the pilots at JetBlue who will forever hold it back. Just happy to be there. Don’t want to bankrupt the company. Would rather be the longest paid than the highest paid. “We aren’t delta so we shouldn’t get paid like delta” “better than it was at mesa” low self-worth types. Those smart enough (or lucky enough with timing) to identify it early in their career before getting golden handcuffs will have a much better career than those stuck with the discount pilots that make up the majority of the jetblue pilot group and almost 100% of the union. I don’t advise anyone to go to jetblue with the goal of staying.
