It exactly what he did with Morris and Westjet.

Now, I heard that JetBlue is buying Delta!

Heard this form a reliable, unnamed source.
Next, we’ll buy Alaska for their routes, sell their airplanes and fire all their crews.
ALPA might work something out for them, like going to Horizon and displace all their crews.

Notwithstanding the economic issues, that would be like K Mart buying Nordstrom. The funny side effect of JB getting absorbed by a real carrier would be that the JB's would either be stapled or shown the door. What a pity.

Report to the lab for drug testing after block-in.

Not necessarily. PeoplExpress is a good example. CAL gave the PE Capts. they need to operate the PE equipment DoH and a fence for their seats. Everyone else got stapled.

The bad news for B6 guys is the same thing that happened to TWA pilots. Since they have no union, the ALPA merger/frag policy doesn't apply. They very well could get stapled or, as SWA did to Morris (another Neeleman production) be offered an interview. In any case, not having Union representation or the resources available hurts when something like this happens, protestations to the contrary notwithstanding.

I heard the ALPA drive at JB has started and can anyone shed light on when the voting begins?

Doubtful that ALPA will be the bargaining unit at B6, if they do vote in a Union. Why? A large number of B6 pilots are furloughed US or UA guys. They suffer under the misguided viewpoint that it was ALPA that got them furloughed.

I'd bet either the Teamsters or an in-house Union will be the choice. The problem with going in-house is that you don't get the financial resources a National Union can provide.

I'd love to see B6 pilots join ALPA. I don't see it happening, though.

What, after all the love you've been giving them?

Can't imagine why they wouldn't want to join you.

Hey, they aren't joining me. They need to look strictly at their own self-interest and decide which is best for them. That's the beauty of Unionism. Its democracy with a little 'd'.
