The most recent captain I'm seeing listed is shown as a November 06 hire, but they're only 46 numbers (maybe a year) from the hire date dropping to early 2011. That said, there are still about 25 people senior to that person deferring upgrades for various reasons (probably avoiding ANC), so the upgrade will take a bit longer to make the big drop.

This is yet another example why chasing the upgrade is a bad strategy. When I was hired, I ignored upgrade time completely. It was 12 years, and rising. I'm probably going to upgrade in just under 4. Meanwhile, I've been based at home and having some of the better pay and benefits in the industry. Just saying... haha.
I've learned three things coming into my fourth year in the 121 world.
1. Don't commute to log turbine SIC.
2. Work for an airline that's a decent shop with decent pay and benefits. Don't sell your soul to the devil because it MIGHT pay off (it usually doesn't...) with a quick upgrade time.
3. Put more on your resume than just flight time. Lots of people have 1000 turbine PIC with apps all over the place...and they're still at their regional. Experience in Flight Standards, being an instructor in Training, working as a project pilot or working with the Chief Pilot Office. Volunteering with a union committee is respectable. If you want to get on at a major, do more than just fly the line.
Horizon is a good shop. Respected airline. Good people. Good pay and benefits. Hiring like mad. Opportunities to fly a TON (as 117 will allow...) Great opportunities to get involved in a variety of areas.
