Yes and no... If you look at the latest seniority report, there are a lot of people who have Seattle as 1 in their bid who haven't been awarded it yet. In the first half of last year people were walking directly into the base of their choosing... That is no longer the case. I am by no means saying that you will never be based in Seattle, but the wait will likely be longer than for any other base.

This. I think this is simply a function of the size of the Seattle area, when compared to the other bases. Many more people live in Seattle, and thus many more want to be based here.

Any idea on how long it may be? 6 months a year? I suppose it's difficult to project however.

There is no real way to know. Probably still way shorter than holding it at another company.

I give anyone on the list for Seattle a 6 month , maximum wait. With this movement, it is probably not going to be that long.....

Are the junior bases commutable from SEA?

I'm commuting now, but it's an easy commute, but it's getting old. Airline has no base in SEA, so it forces me to commute.
