Default Flight Instructors Needed in North Florida

University Air Center is a full service FBO in Gainesville, FL with an active part 61 and 141 flight school that is looking to hire a couple new flight instructors. Currently our student load exceeds our instructor availability so you would be put to work right away if hired. While this is an entry level position our company strongly prefers to promote from within and this is a great way to get your "foot in the door" at a successful aviation company in North Central Florida.

Our current fleet consists of 2 G-1000 Equipped C-172's, 1 Round Dial C-172 M-Model, 1 Piper Warrior, a Cessna 210L, a G-1000 Cessna 182 Turbo, and 1 turbocharged Piper Seminole. We also have a Redbird flight simulator.

Minimums:

Commercial SEL / MEL / INST
CFI / CFI-I (MEI preferred)
325 TT
Must be willing and able to work weekends

If interested, please send your contact information and a resume to [email protected].

You must include "APC-CFI" in the beginning of the subject line.

325 hours? You jest... Sounds like they will take a CFI/CFII, not too many people with 325 hours are going to want to add an MEI that young unless they already have a use for it, which is not many people. I advise to add an MEI about when you plan to use it.

I agree, it's low mins, not even requiring dual given. That said, hopefully the pay is commensurate with the "need".

Hi everyone,

Currently the pay starts at $17.50 per hour and goes up to $27.50 per hour depending on how many hours are worked during a pay period. Also as stated above this is an entry level position. Our company manages a C208 for a local company and we fly that 8 hours a night 363 days per year. Typically this is the next step after instructing. Usually instructors spend about a year in the flight school before moving on. This is of course dependent on staffing needs for the caravan as well. Beyond the Caravan job we also have an active part 135 operation that includes 7 citations, 2 eclipse jets and a cirrus flying charter and medical customers.

Sounds like a great entry level job for a guy fresh out of flight school.

I've visited University Air Center a few times. Very classy operation. Sounds like a very good opportunity for a new CFI.

Thanks for the compliments guys! We do often work with new instructors and experienced instructors alike. We teach everything from initial private instruction up through CFI and ATP in both single and multi engine aircraft. Also we do not have a seniority system for teaching the more advanced topics. If an instructor wishes to teach advanced topics or advanced aircraft they are more than welcome to do so after completing a checkout with a check instructor. If anyone has any questions about our operation or the city of Gainesville feel free to comment or message me.
