People can show off to their friends/coworkers/etc that they own an Apple product, drive a Benz, or even drink Starbucks. These products are marketed to make people feel good about themselves.

Nobody cares what airline you flew last summer to Orlando. Unless it was NetJets or something like that. Nobody feels good after riding in cattle class on some Airbus.

Precisely my point. I drink expensive coffee, and have many Apple products, and actually have a Volvo not a Benz. It has nothing to do with showing off, it makes me feel good. VX makes people feel good when they travel. Who knows how large they will ultimately grow, but I can see the potential.

A Starbucks cup of coffee is $3. An iPhone is $400 which one will have for a few years. 4 hours in a tight $300 seat surrounded by the general public with mood lighting? The average public will not pay more. The experience is not that vastly different, especially with the legacy airlines installing lie flat seats in F in 2 aisle wide bodies.

This thread has been derailed.

From this point on, I'll answer only to hiring type questions in regards to VX. Good luck to all who are applying.

As does SWA. People LUV it! And yet they are the low cost, no frills provider. They made money on their efficiencies.

If you have any hints on the interview I would love to hear them either in open forum or private

very much. I really had not thought much about getting back into 121 flying after the startup I was with went under in the late 90's but the more I read the more I find a lot in common with Virgin and the place I simply loved...

Edit: why are most of the anti VX pilots in this thread Delta? I hope this doesn't have anything to do with the 49% VA stake purchase.
Why do you think that just bc VA is in the title that only VA pilots are allowed to speak? If you are that easily worked up maybe you should start your own website and only allow VA pilots in on the discussion.
