So you want a regulated market then?

Complaint : U.S. v. AMR Corp., American Airlines, Inc., and AMR Eagle Holding Corp.

And yes, I'd be for regulating the market and bring this industry back to what it was prior to 1978. Why? Are you happy with what this career has become since deregulation? The government is already too involved in airline businesses. Taxes, security fees, approvals/denials for airport slots, releasing fare information, etc etc.

Let me get this straight: the government is too involved in the airline business, so the answer is MORE government?

With thinking like that, if this airline pilot thing doesn't work out, you've got a bright future as a politician!

I don't see how the filed complaint you posted is relevant. If a carrier can't compete, they don't belong in the business. That's a free market, right? Wal-Mart has been driving Ma & Pop shops out of business for years. Yet local governments are begging them to build in their towns. The airline business is a free market. You can't de-regulate the industry, then tell an airline that they can't low ball the competition.

WRT to the rest of your questions, if you think the government is too involved, how would a regulated industry change that?

He just wants the govt to protect his 2 year upgrade and long term job security and seniority. With quick reward comes massive risk.

The answer is either leave it alone altogether and let the free market run, or re-regulate it again. There is too much control without actually re-regulating. Regulation as in befoe 1978 would actually be better for the profession.

Where did I ever say I wanted to protect an upgrade? Or that it would be 2 years? These are false statements you are making.

Your question answered in the post above. Certain PREDATORY actions are still illegal. Collusion practices. etc etc. There are rules and regulations against that kind of thing so one (or more) companies can't gang up and then start colluding or otherwise predatorily start driving others out. Even free markets have rules that apply to them.

What is convenient is that you are a moderator who trolls threads. "Making money and profits, oh wait." Ok, we get it. You made it to the big Delta D. Congratulations. Sorry we couldn't all get to where you were, we are second tier, lower skilled pilots than Delta. You are a troll, the General Lee of APC forums.

Does this mean you won't be asking the General for a letter of recommendation?

well I am looking, have come close with two oil companies, but they decided to go with a "near entry level" person...the trick is if my family has to move then all bets are off. I've flown 121 before...that is where I went after the US military and enjoyed the heck out of it...then the airline folded!
