I also got a thanks for applying letter back in may and got another one yesterday. I never interviewed or was asked too. The difference in this letter was the wording

No, I haven't received any rejection email at all. Not even the first one back in May.

I also received a "Thanks but No Thanks" letter. The funny thing is that I got it about 4 hours before meeting a Southwest welcoming committe in the Atlanta airport! They said "Hey, we are from Southwest and are happy to be here!" Unfortunately, I couldn't come up with anything witty to say that I wouldn't regret later!
