I noticed all the pilots with World Airways were recalled. Just wondering if anyone has info on if they will be hiring because some of their recalls didn't come back, how to get on there, etc. Their furlough didn't last as long as some, so I know it is a shot in the dark. I've seen World Airways posting lots of jobs lately, just none of them pilot jobs. Thanks for any info you can provide.

They are planning some growth in the near future and may need to hire. Ex-ATA pilots get first shot at an interview when (and if) hiring resumes.

My good friend is the number 3 guy on the 11 at World..It seems the FAA has said no to them insofar as bringing more airframes on board until they get their maint arse's together. Planes are breaking down all over the world and the company has been taking contracts flying into places in Africa Navy Seals would think twice about going to. The company has fallen way short on their promise of armed escorts to the hotel in those places. They were going to hire but now all that is on hold until they can get some FAA relief and bring on more 400's.

Due to the security problems on some of the Africa RON's the pilot group is currently engaged in a job action refusing to fly into those airports until the company provides adequate security. There is a big meeting going on (may have already happened) with mgt regarding coming to some kind of agreement.

Things at World are pretty bleak at the moment.
