So if you are worried about a SIM ride on the interview I don't know what to tell you about their training, they have one of the biggest wash out rates in the industry. You either have it or you don't.
So you actually get to fly instead of watching the A/P at GLA? Count me in!

You boys cooling your heels at ZK for the last few years waiting for the hiring windows to open should get first dibs. Not to suck up too much, just my .02 The flying you boys do should give you carte blanche at opportunities. Too bad I'm not the head of HR at a career place, you guys would be at the top of the heap. And to the pilots just getting into our little regional industry, good luck.

If it can at all serve as a consolation, an acquaintance of mine received a 'not interested letter' back a week after applying. So maybe its a good thing if we haven't heard anything?

I got a call this morning after almost a month of waiting, so its probably a good thing if you haven't heard anything.

You're right, the industry is turning for the better. Would you rather be sitting in the right seat of an RJ or have 1000 turbine PIC 3 years from now when all the Majors are hiring again?

Also, when I worked there, I upgraded in exactly 1 year. The 1st year was tough... I'm not gonna lie. However, by the second year I was making the same or more $$ than my peers who were sitting in the right seat of an RJ.

for me its making crappy money as a CFI not getting any multi time. Or making crappy money building multi time as well as turbine PIC within a couple years. Little sacrifice now for reward later. A person has to do what is in his or her best interest.

I applied at Lakes a couple of years ago. It took about 3 months from the time I applied to the time I got called for an interview. I heard nothing in between. Interview was pretty laid back. No sim ride at all. Tech with a Captain and HR from someone else. I did get offered the job in Feb 2009. Didn't take it, but left my info on file. They called again in June 2010 and I turned it down. Couldn't take the pay. Everyone I talked to that flew there said the pilot group is great and the flying is incredible! I just couldn't commute from Atlanta for reserve for 14,400 per year.

Good luck to those who take it! You will have to teach yourself during training!
