You're both wrong. Over 500 will be going from Eagle to AA. It won't be this year, but maybe next they'll start being kicked out of AEA. It's funny how these rumors spread from so little information.

Any idea as to what base the majority of these 500 are at?

Default Ae

I wouldn't expect anything. One guy I interviewed with was conditionally hired the last time AE was hiring. He never was called for class,so he had to interview again. He is now sitting in the same spot he was a few years back.
They told us last week they were hiring for the 22 CRJ's. What is that around
a 100 pilots? They were at around 50 with me. If the flow thru's do go,they will most likely hire more.

My friends at Eagle say the Captains being moved out are mostly on the CRJs which is ORD and DFW, but the upgrades and vacancies would come from all over. Their most junior bases are still Puerto Rico and New York

Take your own advice. I'm just passing along what was given to me by an actual Eagle pilot. If you don't like it, go talk to him yourself.

Any thoughts on what a commute from ORD to SJU might be like?

There's only one morning flight from ORD to SJU. are the passes available to eagle pilots practical to commute on?
