American Eagle to hire
#322
why would anybody want this job. i'm on my third year here and i'm still on reserve in one of the most junior bases we have. i've been displaced into three bases and continue to be the company's b****. if you get hired right now you will be on reserve indefinitaly. i'm not going to sugar coat what your getting yourself into. it's only fair you know. pay is below the poverty line. rsv people get paid way lower than a line pilot. be prepared to pay for crashpads and hotels and spend 260+ days away from your home. In a crashpad you will probably end up sleeping with 6+ people in a single room. this company isn't a family. there's 2 family's in this company. those that have been here for 15+ years and those that haven't. the senior people always have a way to belittle you and make sure you have a bad day. that's just how it is and it's not going to change.

Yeah dude, I've been on RSV for 2 years and you're senior to me. I can't complain about much besides commutting up to ORD. Even then, I'm back in DFW next month. If you hate it that much, pack your crap and roll. It would help me out.
For the folks coming on, you gotta learn to play the game and be prepaired to give and take. It will be more giving, but it's called a job. Better than sleeping in a tent in the middle of Saudi.

I am calling BS on this. The most junior third year guys would be from a 01/07 class and that would put you about 2145 on the list. The only three seats you that you can't hold a hard line on are LAX/DFW both CRJ and EMJ. My guess is you can hold a CMP line in both DFW seats.

He was just playing around saying that you should ask, "how long till I make captain" at the interview. It will make the old dogs laugh. Either it would make their day or immediately marr your reputation. Is your future job worth risking for a joke? I guess it depends on the joke hehe.

Obviously you're miserable and NO job is worth what you're claiming is your existance. "Senior people" ALWAYS belittle others ?
That simply isn't true.
Perhaps it's time to take responsibility for your destiny and time to stop blaming others ?

Great, another employed pilot telling UNemployed pilots not to go to this or that airline. So, what do you suggest us unemployed Pilots should do? If it is so horrible for you, then please quit so an UNemloyed pilot can work and collect a paycheck and support his family.
It never fails here on APC. Like I said in many posts, it does not matter which airline or company is hiring there will always be people b!tching.

You can expect a certain percentage of pilots (a strong but vocal minority) to be hopeless whiners who blame others for their own faliures and choices. For every one of these, there are 9 pilots who will say it isn't THAT bad. Most pilots KNOW what they're getting into first and then either deal with it or decide it isn't for them and do something else..........it's called self responsibility.
Others sit in the middle of the room crying as loud as possible in the hope someone will validate their pain.
