Does anyone know if KD is still the recruiting manager? Is KD still at AE?

RK was the most recent hiring manager, but he resigned and went back to the line. VA is the new hiring manager, or at least she is filling in until a permanent one is found.

KD doesn't ring a bell for me

I got 3 hours sced, 1.5 with an Inst in an RC1 near me, that can be config to a barron. I am going to do the MEM and LAX profiles listed online. What has everyone been getting? Also what is the time scheme lately, ie phone call, to interview, to class date. I am trying to get this all lined up.

The AE Baron is a G1000, but the standard rate turn has been configured like an ATR, so it is about 28 degrees of bank. The guy who did my evaluation ride told me that when I questioned why the bank angle was so steep (I have a couple hundred hours in Barons and standard rate is not that steep). He is an ATR guy and number 1 on the seniority list. If your frasca doesn't have a glass cockpit, I would find one that did. That will actually do more for you than knowing the Baron. They will walk you through the airspeeds and initial power settings.

Good luck! I was impressed with my interview experience at AE, and would have taken the job had I not been offered something where I could be based at home without a commute. Seemed like a good place to be. The gouges are spot on, or were back in August.

Thanks for the info, the sim ride is what I am most scared about, as I could now go out and pass the ATP tomorrow, I got them all memorized, both versions. I have every interview question for a few regionals now memorized, and I have the POHs memorized for every aircraft I have flown in this year. Which profile is everyone getting, ie mem or lax.

Any updates on future classes?

The training center will be pumping up to about 25-30+ pilots per class, every 2 weeks for the forseeable future.

The training academy is shut down over Christmas, so the next class will be Jan 3.

I dont know for sure, but we have received emails from the company saying they have had to park two brand f-in new CRJ700s because they dont have enough pilots to staff it. So, I think it would be a safe bet to see ORD and/or LGA CRJ slots in the next newhire classes.

We also just opened a MIA ERJ base, and 16 MIA ATR FOs transferred out, so we are short in MIA ATR FO as well. Same deal with DFW ERJ FO and ORD ERJ FO. Had about a net loss of 30 guys in DFW 50 in ORD from the bid awards, so that makes a pretty big opening.

Long story short, I have no clue what they will offer in the next classes, but there are plenty of openings everywhere, and if you dont initially get what you want you should be able to transfer to your desired base before you finish training.

Latest word from AE Hiring dept says Jan 17th class will have 39 pilots in it. I havent seen any 30+ classes since 2004, so this could be great news for those coming to class if these numbers keep up!

Projections are still to hire 500-600 pilots during 2011, and company is now expecting 150 AE CAs to transfer to AA by May 2011.
