American Eagle to hire
#1763
Sad but true, think of the companies with poor pay to fly a 170/190, but at least it's cool and it makes your crap come out gold plated and smelling of lilac. I enjoy flying the turboprops, mostly because you still actually have the opportunity to FLY, as opposed to button press. Nothing else can take 50 people, cruise at 230, and slow to 85 on approach while landing on a 2500 foot runway. Unfortunately for me, Eagle and no one for that matter has turboprops in Chicago. In the race to the bottom, no one seems to think of quality of life in this job, it's all about ego. Hypothetically, If I could live in Chicago and fly a Dash 8 or ATR based in Chicago for the same pay to commute for a 777 or 747 when I had to commute, I would take the prop any day. QOL

I'm sure that when I make my selection on the first day there will be those in my class that will think I'm nuts when I choose ATR. But what they don't know is that there is a method to my madness.
