3 out of 6 guys in my interview group had over 2000 hours of TT (and more) (7000+, 3000+, 2000+) and all 6 of us had 121 experience.

The 3 with the highest times did NOT get invited to stay. The 3 that did get invited to attend day two, are below 2000. The 3 of us had internal recs, not sure if the other guys did or not. From what I heard from the guys that didn't make it, all the interviewing went well. I'm thinking they're looking for a mix of lower time (this is a relative statement) so you won't ditch out once things pick up, and 121 experience.

In my opinion, it seems their "ideal" candidate has;
-somewhere between 1500-2500 hours
-121 experience
-internal rec
-NO 121 checkride failures
(They're really looking for this, the FAA is all over them because of 3407), -minimal initial training pink slips
-low marketability so you don't leave the second things get better (737 type, et al)

But that's just my opinion. In reality I have no clue what eagle's "ideal candidate" is.

No, but I was expecting to since I did not hear anything last week. I think they just randomly pick a few people a week and send them to the review board because a few people that interviewed after me have already heard something.

It all depends on when your file is ready for review. They wont send your stuff to the review board until it is 100% complete. For instance in my case they were waiting on a stubborn old boss to complete the work history verification form. It took a call from me to get him to fax in the paperwork. I know for a fact that my file will be reviewed today. Hopefully I'll get the good word soon. I think people didn't get notified until Saturday last week.

Why exactly do they do that? No other regional that I can think of does that. It's the perfect time for your boss to find out that you're trying to leave and put a "good word" in there for you. Sucks for those people trying to get out of shady operators.

It is only one day and they are no longer paying for hotels.

Because they can.

More accurately, it's probably because they are being inundated with applications and a need a cost-effective way to trim them down. If RAH, SKYW and XJT all started hiring 50 a month today, you'd see that requirement dropped faster than a hooker's panties at a political convention.
