I was once given advice from a very successful UPS Captain and former Air Force Pilot, he told me "If you go to American Eagle, it will be career suicide".

I've come to understand why he told me that.

Do your own thing, try hard and bring a good attitude. The rest will work itself out.

Because he is a check airmen at UPS, a designated examiner on the side and is a very smart investor which has lead him to be financially set aside from his flying career.

I'm keeping a good attitude and I use everyday to look for new opportunities, it's my only option I have.

I once watched an AA captain tell my captain "The best thing you can do for this business is quit and not work at an airline until you can get a job at a major". I thought it the height of arrogance and patronization for him to say that and 15 years later I still believe he was an *******.

Ok that makes him successful and is now the voice of reason for what is better for you! I would rather fail in knowing that I made a decision for myself and tried, instead of going on with the "what if" for the rest of my life!

Back on topic.. New hires, make sure you ask lots of questions when the union representatives come in the class room on how they will protect you and your job. enjoy the pizza
Cheers

Yeah because if you had PIC Turbine you'd be out of here! Yeah sure because as soon as you get it, everyone calls you begging you to work for them. That's how it works, yeah.

What, are you sleeping with him or something? Oh wait....you got an interview with AE and didn't get hired and now you're bitter.

C'mon son! Get outta here with that BS!

Yes, nothing better than getting advice from someone who had a charmed career by going into the airforce, then straight to UPS. Two flying jobs their entire career, that is lucky, not good. Tell this to someone flying freight for 12,000yr. to build time, then gets stuck in an economic downturn. These arrogant people who simply got lucky, then give advice that they don't have the experience to give. If I had a nickel for every military pilot who knew next to nothing about civilian aviation, well, I wouldn't have to fly for a living.

BTW, I don't work for Eagle, therefore, I am not just defending my decisions.
