one question about the contract. Is it money/verbal or what, it sounds like I would love to do this but my goal is the airlines and since i was hired by AE im in the pool and know I would choose to go back there.

Just wondering how they see this.
Last year it was a written contract, and it would be in your best interest NOT to break it....ESPECIALLY for AE. I had a buddy last season who broke it for AE, and they then put him in the pool. And if we wanted a job back, I don't know if he would get it. It would be in your best interest NOT to burn any bridges, and fullfil your contract. Trust me, Piedmont is giving me the same run-around AE is giving you, due to all these high oil prices and lack of attrition, and I don't anticipate them calling us before this summer. Try not to be naive, no matter what rumors the forums say.

Landcare Aviaton is a great job to get lots of experience, and at the very least use it to build up your resume and get 135 IFR mins. I would fullfil your contract with Landcare, then go to AE after the season rgardless of when they call you. You know very well they can call you for some training, and send you home within a week. That is what they did wit my buddy...

In all seriousness... thanks.
Now that I think of it, last season I called their number, and actually asked for his full name while talking to him---so I had to get it the hard way. =)

No problem, good luck to all who apply. You will have one hell of a year.

I don't know why anyone would want to leave a temp job for one with Benefits. That guy must have been crazy.

So would you be on the road for 4 months at a time? Do you have a home base?

You'll be on the road from October to the end of May... base is Rome, NY but you'll most likely only be there for training and for turning in your plane at the end of the season.

I believe they have 15 aircraft, with a few pilots returning from last season. After talking to them, my best guess would be that they are looking for around 8-9 new pilots.
