5260K was my home for a good six months a couple years ago.
Took that plane across the northern rockies in march and the southern rockies in august....I actually got that trucker exhaust put on that thing, even though they never did take my advice and chrome it.
Do it if you get the chance and especially if you need the time
Fun place to work...I had a good time.

well, nothing but fantastic responses......any shot at getting multi time? Says on their website they use 172s and Aztecs. How exactly would I get into an Aztec(only have 30 multi right now) have a ton of time in cessnas, including 200+ dual given.

it may have changed since I was there several years ago but....
They really only had one aztec that didn't fly a whole lot and that time was usually given to the guys that were there for a while.
That being said I cant tell you that after I left Landcare I jumped right into a freight job flying 402's and 310's. A big part of the reason was because of the real IFR flying I got to do at Landcare.

They operate three Aztecs currently, and they are taken by the senior pilots. Always a shot in season two.

Steve... what airline did you get hired on with? Any chance your going back if you get Furloughed, or are you thinking you'll be safe. - As of right now i heard about 6 people will possibly be back, due to the state of our industry

I am still chilling, waiting for Piedmont; and I have an interview with Great Lakes here in August, Jeff. I also heard almost the whole crew could be back this season, and if I don't get the job with Great Lakes, I might be also while I am waiting for Piedmont. One of our old co-workers told me that they might hire you back if you wanted too *cough* Lazyion *cough*

I was with Landcare for half a season. Half the pilots quit before the contract ended in May. (airline hiring boom) Just be prepared to also go to boring places like Mississippi. I was there for nearly a month and hated that. And you'll fly your a$$ off, sometimes when you don't feel like it. Don't get me wrong though. You'll get to see some cool places and do some fun cross countries with all your bags and such.
5260K was my bird too. She ran good.

Landcare is a great place to be. You'll build hours that no CFI will build flying in class B for hours, in special use airspaces and TRAVELING to new places. Being a CFI you're typically in and out of the same boring airport day in day out and when you're lucky you get to do X/C. I flew from North Carolina to Texas in one day hand flying the whole time (because at landcare autopilot is an unknown word). Your flying skills, instrument skills, and radio usage will come so fast at Landcare. I loved my job there and recommend it to anyone able to be away from home, not knowing where you'll be in the next week. If you can't take being away from home for 6-7 months then this is not for you.
